Krypta

This necklace is inspired by a weekend trip I had with my husband earlier this year.

We went to the river Rhine which is famous for the castles along. One castle we visited was ‘Burg Rheinstein’. It has a cute little chapel on the property in a neo gothic style and some of the earlier owners are buried in it’s crypt. You can go downstairs along the chapel and you can actually look right into the crypt and see three wooden coffins! I was a little bit shocked about this view because I really didn’t expected wooden coffins right in front of me through a open grid - you can actually smell the age and death! This experience triggered something in me and gave me a deep inspiration - one of those you want to bring on paper right away. I’m glad I brought this very special moment finally to life.
